Masnari, Carver Double-Doubles Power @INTechWBB in Rout of Mustangs

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Four players scored in double figures with Taylor Carver and Lindsey Masnari each recording double-doubles as the Indiana Tech women's basketball team defeated Marygrove 86-60 on Kline Court in the Schaefer Center on Wednesday night.

The Warriors (10-12, 9-5 WHAC) scored the first two points of the game on free throws from Carver and Baylee Rinehart, but the Mustangs (3-18, 1-12 WHAC) responded quickly with a three-pointer to take their first and only lead of the game. Back-to-back jumpers by Carver and another from Rinehart put Tech up five and after a Marygrove basket, the Warriors used a 7-0 run to push the lead to nine, 15-6. The visitors cut the deficit back to two with seven unanswered points before Taylor Seiss knocked down a trey to propel the Warriors to a 13-2 run and a 13-point lead. Marygrove answered again, scoring 13 of the next 17 points to trail by just four, 32-28, but the Orange and Black outscored the Mustangs by six the rest of the half to take a 46-36 lead into the break.

Tech came out of the locker room fired up, opening the half on a 10-0 run to push the lead to 20. After Marygrove hit a pair of jumpers, the Warriors scored 11 of 12 points to push the lead to a game-high 26, 67-41. The visitors got a close as 17 points, 77-60, but Tech finished the game with nine unanswered points for the final margin, 86-60.

The Warriors finished 29-for-65 (44.6%) from the floor, 7-for-24 (29.2%) from behind the arc and 21-for-31 (67.7%) from the free throw line and limited the Mustangs to 28.8 percent (21-for-73) shooting while outrebounding Marygrove 58-36 in the contest.
