FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team fell to Marygrove College, 1-0, on Wednesday evening at Warrior Athletic Field.
The Mustangs were able to control the ball early and often, firing off seven shots on goal and 16 overall while limiting the Warriors to only one shot on goal and five shots in all.
Marygrove broke the scoreless tie in the 39th minute when Khalid Suleiman headed in Haider Alzayadi's corner kick and got it past Tech keeper
Logan Kelly.
The Orange and Black were unable to keep possession of the ball for long and never got into their set pieces, only having two corner kicks while the Mustangs had six.
Brennan Cochran recorded the team's only shot on goal, while older brother
Landon Cochran had two shots.
Ruben Leonardo and
Fabian Kaufmann also recorded shots. Kelly finished the game with three saves as his record dropped to 3-7-1.
Tech (3-8-1, 0-5-1) returns to the pitch on Saturday when they travel to Sylvania, Ohio, for the first-ever matchup with Lourdes University. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. and live stats will be available at IndianaTechWarriors.com.
