ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Indiana Tech American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 1 men's ice hockey team defeated No. 25 Oakland University, 6-1, in Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League (GLCHL) play on Friday night at Onyx Ice Arena.
Tech blitzed the Golden Grizzles with four goals in the opening frame to cruise to their third GLCHL win in a row.
Jace Childs got the scoring started with his team-leading fifth goal just 59 seconds into the game off of feeds from
Ryan Theisen and
Jarrett Pfeiffer.
Adam Jonak would make it 2-0 at 18:29 after getting the feed from
Quentin Holmes and
Dylan Grant.
Joe Molfetta would score his first goal of the night at 13:48 to give the Warriors a 3-0 lead, while Grant made it 4-0 with just over a minute to go in the first period for his first goal.
Theisen and Molfetta would each add insurance goals in the third as the Orange and Black pushed the lead to 6-1.
Nick Denice would add two assists, while Jonak, Molfetta, Childs, Pfeiffer and
Kyle Cobb all picked up one each.
The Warriors fired off 37 shots on goal against the Golden Grizzles and
Zach Larson picked up his third win in a row.
