Racers Speed Past Warriors

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team fell to No. 2 University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH), 5-0, in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) on Wednesday evening at Warrior Athletic Field.
 
Tech fell behind early as UNOH raced out to a 4-0 lead in the opening 23 minutes. Matild Christiansen scored twice in just under a minute and a half with goals in the 12th and 14th minute to give the visitors a 2-0 lead.
 
Just over a minute later, Laura Blanchard scored from inside the box to give the Racers a 3-0 lead and Pauline Quesson made it 4-0 in the 23rd minute.
 
Alena Payne made four saves in the opening half as her record dropped to 3-8-1 on the season. Tailer Roscoe came in relief in the second half, making two saves and giving up one goal.
 
Sediqa Nedma and Jessica Marin each recorded a shot on goal, while Marin, Sydney Lemelin and Abby Glaysher each had two shots a piece.
 
Tech (6-8-1, 2-4-1) falls to eighth in the WHAC standings and has another tough test this weekend as they host Concordia, who is receiving votes in the Top 25 poll and tied for third in the conference, on Senior Day.
