FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team lost to Concordia, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon at Warrior Athletic Field on Senior Day.
The Warriors fell behind early to the Cardinals as Julia Palushaj score twice in the opening 10 minutes to give the visitors a 2-0 lead. The Orange and Black would not lie down however, as
Jessica Zurcher scored in the 17
th minute and senior
Megan Perrey knotted it at two in the 36
th minute.
The Cardinals would strike quickly just after halftime however, as Justine Jahnke scored just a minute and 11 seconds into the second half to give Concordia a lead they would not relinquish. The visitors would add on two more goals in the 55
th and 60
th minute, with the latter coming from Palushaj for her third goal of the match.
The Warriors outshot the Cardinals 18-12, but only six of those game on goal compared to the eight for Concordia.
Alena Payne made three saves as she saw her record fell to 3-9-1.
The Orange and Black sit in eighth place in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) standings with seven points, just one point ahead of Davenport.
