FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech volleyball team defeated Lawrence Tech in five sets (25-16, 23-25, 25-17, 22-25, 15-10) on Wednesday evening at the Schaefer Center.
With the score tied at five in the decisive set, Tech was able to rattle off three straight points, including a kill and ace from
Cassie Sarabia, to take an 8-5 lead heading into the change-over. The Blue Devils were able to take the next point, but the Warriors quickly made it a 10-8 set.
Three kills in a row from
Katelyn St. Martin, Sarabia and
Jazmin Alexander pushed the hosts lead to 13-8. Sarabia then clinched the match with the game-winning kill that was sent out of bounds by the LTU blockers.
Sarabia, St. Martin and Alexander all had double digit kills with 17, 14 and 10, respectively; while St. Martin added 16 digs and Sarabia recorded seven digs.
Keasia Carlisle led the Warriors hit attack percentage (.333) and blocks (five), while
Taylor Kelso notched 25 digs to push her double-digit streak to 21 games.
Karli Jones and
Autumn Stokes each added 20-plus assists with 27 and 21, respectively.
Tech (20-11, 12-5 WHAC) takes its four match win streak on the road this weekend as they travel to Adrian, Michigan, for the Siena Heights Crossover. The Orange and Black look to avenge two losses earlier in the season when they take on #22 Madonna and the host Saints on Nov. 1.
