BRIGHTON, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team battled to a 4-4 double overtime draw with Michigan-Dearborn on Wednesday afternoon at the Legacy Center as they got their first point in WHAC play.
Zachary St. Aubin opened the scoring in the 24
th minute when he blasted one past Dearborn keeper Aaron Johnson to give Tech the 1-0 led. Just under two minutes later,
Ruben Leonardo sent home his first goal of the year to give the Warriors a 2-0 advantage. The Wolverines would counterattack quickly however, getting one back in the 27
th minute.
Brennan Cochran recorded his team-leading 10
th goal in the 39
th minute to push the lead back to two, the hosts would rally back. The Wolverines scored three times in the second half (48
th, 69
th and 77
th minute) to take a 4-3 lead into the last 13 minutes of the match.
St. Aubin would not let the Warriors leave without a point however, as he notched his second goal of the game in the 79
th minute to draw things even at four.
St. Aubin and Cochran each had chances to convert in the overtimes, but were unable to find the back of the net. The Warriors finished with 11 shots on goal and 26 overall.
Tech (3-6-1, 0-3-1) returns home on Saturday and plays host to No. 2 Davenport at Warrior Athletic Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and links to live stats will be available at IndianaTechWarriors.com.
