Tech Dispatches Wolverines in Sweep

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech volleyball team snapped a three-match losing streak as they defeated Michigan-Dearborn in three games (25-15, 25-13, 25-11) on Wednesday evening at the Schaefer Center Gymnasium.

The Warriors hit a season-high .515 at the net with 42 total kills and only eight errors. They also served up eight aces, one off their season-high.

Jazmin Alexander and Cassie Sarabia led the Tech offense with 13 and 11 kills, respectively, while Sarabia served up a game-high three aces. Karli Jones dished out 22 assists and Taylor Kelso kept her double-digit digs streak alive with a game-high 11.

The Orange and Black only trailed twice all night and only by a point each time. A seven run spurt late in the first set gave the Warriors the early 1-0 lead, while a 12-2 run in the second gave the hosts a two set cushion. Tech then finished off the match with a seven and eight-point run each in the third.

Indiana Tech (11-9, 7-5) travels to Joliet, Illinois, this weekend for the Big Guns Classic, hosted by the University of Saint Francis. The Warriors will play Marian University (Ind.) on Saturday at 11 a.m. before facing off with the Fighting Saints at 1 p.m. Both matches will be played at the Pat Sullivan Center and links to live stats will be available at IndianaTechWarriors.com.
