FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's basketball team took down Marygrove, 88-64, on Wednesday evening at the Schaefer Center in their Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) home opener.
Miles Robinson led all scorers with 20 points and pulled down six rebounds and grabbed four steals in 30 minutes.
Dominique Walls added his fourth double-double in five games with 14 points and 11 rebounds in addition to two blocks, while
Lavonte Davis had a season-high 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds and swatted two shots.
Scott Schwieterman would also add a career-high 14 points and grabbed seven rounds while picking up a game-high three blocks.
Tech would score the first five points of the game and never trailed as they jumped out to a 14-5 lead five and a half minutes into the game and forcing the Mustangs to call a timeout.
After the timeout, the Orange and Black would tack on a 9-3 run, with six straight points from Davis, including a thunderous dunk that brought the Schafer Center crowd to its feet. Tech would build its lead to as many as 22 and headed into the locker room with a 49-30 lead.
It would be the Schwieterman show in the second half as he scored all 14 of his points in the final 20 minutes as the Warriors would shoot over 54 percent from the floor and pushed their lead to 31 with just under 12 minutes to go in the game.
