FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's basketball team defeated Michigan-Dearborn, 67-56, on Saturday afternoon in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action at the Schaefer Center.
Miles Robinson led all scorers with a career 26 points while adding six rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals.
Dominique Walls and
Scott Schwieterman also scored in double figures with 14 and 11, respectively. Schwieterman would pull down a career-high eight rebounds and Walls would add five rebounds and two steals. Junior
Lavonte Davis grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds for the Orange and Black.
Tech came out of the gates firing and jumping out to a 13-0 lead, with Robinson and Walls combining for the first 10 points of the game. The Wolverines would cut the deficit six at 20-14 with 5:23 to go in the first half, but would not get any closer as the Warriors end the half on a 10-5 and head into the locker room with a 30-19 lead.
Robinson would score 16 of his 26 points in the second half on 6-8 shooting, including 3-5 form behind the three-point line as Tech would push its lead to as many as 22. The Warriors out-rebounded Michigan-Dearborn, 44-37, and get 12 second chance points. The Orange and Black would take advantage of the fast pace of the game for a 12-2 advantage in fast-break points.
