FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 2-ranked Indiana Tech wrestling team went a perfect 4-0 on Saturday at the Warrior Duals. Tech defeated Embry-Riddle, 36-12, No. 19 University of the Cumberlands, 29-13, St. Catharine, 33-9, and No. 17 Lindsey Wilson 31-18.
Mitch Pawlak (125 pounds) highlighted the day for the Warriors as the All-American also went 4-0 on the day. The fourth ranked wrestler in the country had a pair of wins over top-10 opponents, No. 7 Sage Ornelas of Embry-Riddle by fall at 4:17, and No. 6 James Flint of Lindsey Wilson by a 10-3 decision.
Fifth ranked
John Weldon (165) and second ranked
LJ Grayson (184) would each go 4-0 on the day as well. Weldon had two decisions and two falls, while Grayson had three majority decisions and a fall.
Travis Barroquillo (133) went 3-1 on the day with his only loss coming to fourth ranked Jake Sinkovics of Cumberlands by major decision (17-7). He would record two wins and a technical fall.
Justin Atkinson went 3-0 with wins over Embry-Riddle, St. Catharine and Lindsey Wilson in the 149 pound weight class.
Jacob Johnson (174) would go 3-1 for the duals.
Chase Hack (157) finished the day at 2-1 while
Bo Davis (197) went 2-2
Tech (6-2 in dual matches) closes out the calendar year next weekend as they compete in the 37
