WINONA LAKE, Ind. – The (RV) Indiana Tech men's basketball team defeated (RV) Grace, 84-69, on Wednesday night at the Manahan Orthopaedic Captial Center to win their seventh game in a row.
Jantzen Goodwin did his best Steph Curry impersonation as he went 6-of-8 from the three point line en route to a season-high 22 points while grabbing four rebounds.
Miles Robinson had 19 points and was a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line while pulling down six rebounds.
Dominique Walls had 16 points and eight rebounds, while
Lavonte Davis and
Tanner Watkins chipped in 12 and 11 points, respectively. Davis didn't miss a shot from the floor (3-of-3) or the charity stripe (6-of-6).
After a back-and-forth first half with saw the Lancers take a 35-32 lead at halftime, the Warriors came out on fire in the second half as they hit 60.0% of their shots from the floor and half from the three point line, with Goodwin and Watkins combining for six triples.
Tech took the lead back for good with just under 11 minutes to play in the game as they used a 9-0 run to take a 58-54 lead. Grace tied it back up at the 7:21 mark, but the Orange and Black used a 22-8 run to seal the game as they went 14-16 from the free throw line and Goodwin hit two big three point shots.
The Warriors held a dominate advantage on the boards, outrebounding the Lancers 40-27 and outscored the hosts 52-34. The Orange and Black shot 48.2% from the floor and 40.0% from the three point line while limiting Grace to 36.5% shooting and just 22.2% from behind the arc.
Tech (11-4, 7-1 WHAC) returns to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action on Saturday, Jan. 2, when they welcome Lawrence Tech to the Schaefer Center.
