ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's basketball team continued its streak of impressive play as they won their fifth straight game overall and fourth in WHAC play with a 76-54 victory over Concordia on Saturday afternoon.
Freshman
Kendall Knapke led all scorers with a career-high 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting, including 4-of-7 from behind the three-point line. She also pulled down eight rebounds while recording a pair of assists, blocks and steals. Senior
Taylor Carver added 15 points with five rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Haley Cook and
Taylor Seiss also scored in double figures with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Cook added a team-high nine rebounds while Seiss dished out a game-high five assists.
Cook would start things off with a three pointer as the Warriors jumped out to a 23-17 lead after 10 minutes of play. It would be déjà vu to start the second period as Cook would hit the first shot of the quarter at the 7:49 mark and hit the ensuing free throw after getting fouled to push the lead to nine.
The Cardinals would hang around until the early portions of the fourth quarter as the Orange and Black used an 11-5 run to extend the lead to 21 with 5:17 to go in the game and cruise to the 76-54 victory.
Tech (7-3, 4-1 WHAC) gets back on the road next Wednesday when they travel to Adrian, Michigan and take on Siena Heights. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. and live stats and video will be available at IndianaTechWarriors.com.
