@INTechMBB Suffers Setback against No. 8 Cornerstone

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Josh Fleming finished one point shy of a career-high and the Indiana Tech men's basketball team had three players finish in double-figures but it wasn't enough to topple Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference foe, eighth-ranked Cornerstone, suffering a 91-68 defeat at Dan Kline Court in the Schaefer Center on Wednesday night.

The Golden Eagles (20-5, 14-3) opened the scoring with three straight points and eight of the first 10 to open a six point lead. A Franklin Lindsey three-pointer and Laurence Mifsud layup cut the Warriors (10-15, 7-10) deficit to just three, but CU scored the next four to stretch the margin to seven. Fleming sparked a 10-2 run with a three-pointer to push the Warriors to a 17-16 lead with 12:06 to play in the half. Cornerstone followed with the next four and didn't trail again as the Orange and Black kept the game close for much of the half, trailing by two with nine minutes to go, but the visitors outscored Tech 23-12 to end the period for a 47-34 halftime margin.

The Warriors continued to battle in the second half but never got the run they needed as the Golden Eagles answered every basket of the Warriors with one of their own to earn the win. Tech finished the contest 25-for-61 (41%) from the field, 6-for-21 (28.6%) from behind the arc and 12-for-15 (80%) at the charity stripe. At the other end of the floor, the Golden Eagles shot 54.2 percent (32-59) in the contest while going 19-for-26 (73.1%) from the line.

Fleming finished with a team-high 19 points while Lindsey netted 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds. It's the 16th consecutive time Lindsey has scored at least 10 points while Arben Camaj also scored 10 for Tech.

The Warriors return to action on Saturday, Feb. 7 in Southfield, Mich. when they face Lawrence Tech at Don Ridler Field House with tip-off scheduled for 3 p.m. Live stats and video of the contest are available at www.indianatechwarriors.com/live.
