SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's basketball team traveled to the Don Ridler Fieldhouse on Saturday for a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest against Lawrence Tech, falling 73-54.

After the Blue Devils (11-11, 9-9 WHAC) scored first, the Warriors (13-14, 11-7 WHAC) scored the next four points and 13-of-16 to take a 13-5 lead. A 5-0 run by the home team cut the lead to two, but Baylee Rinehart hit a layup to end the run and push the margin back to four. Unfortunately, LTU outscored TEch 25-6 to close the half and take a 15-point, 36-21 lead into the break.

Taylor Carver hit a layup to open the second half and the Orange and Black slowly chipped away at the deficit, cutting it to nine on three separate occasions – a Linsey Masnari layup, Carver layup and a Masnari free throw. That was as close as Tech got as the Blue Devils had an answer for every basket, hitting free throws down the stretch for the final margin.

The offensive struggles continued for the Warriors behind the arc where they went just 2-for-11 (18.2%) while shooting 19-for-53 (35.8%) from the field and 14-for-19 (73.7%) from the charity stripe. At the other end of the floor LTU finished 30-for-68 (44.1%) from the floor and 6-for-27 (22.2%) from long range.

Masnari finished with a team-high 13 points with Rinehart adding 12. Shallante Clements grabbed a team-high six rebounds to go with eight points with Carver matching her points and grabbing five rebounds.

Tech returns home on Wednesday, Feb. 11 when they host No. 2 Davenport for a "Think Pink" contest to raise awareness for breast cancer. All kids will get in free with a paid adult as well.
