BRIEF: Playing in 20 mile per hour winds for the second time this season, the Indiana Tech baseball team swept Lourdes at Mercy Field on Wednesday. The Warriors used a pair of five run innings in game one to seal the victory while a stellar pitching performance and steady offensive production carried Tech in the second of the twin-bill.

FLOW:GAME 1- Speed and aggressiveness plated the Warriors first run as
Dezmon Nunn stole a base and scored on a wild pitch in the first for the early lead
- A strike him out, throw him out double played ended the third for Lourdes and the Warriors turned a double play to escape a jam in the third
- The Gray Wolves broke through in the fourth, plating four runs on four hits and on error

Brian Hakes tripled home
Romer Portes and
Peyton Newsom drove him in with a sacrifice fly to cut the deficit to one in the sixth
- The Warriors exploded in the seventh, plating five runs on three hits and a pair of errors

Kyle Mead, Newsom and Remesnik each recorded RBI hits in the frame
- Following a 1-2-3 seventh for the home team, Tech added five more runs on three hits and another two errors in the eighth
- Hakes highlighted the frame with a three-run home run to right field

Clay Wallace escaped a bases loaded jam in the eighth to preserve the win

GAME 2- The Warriors scored in five of the seven innings
- After a scoreless first
Chris Gaynor started the scoring with a two-run double in the second
- Newsome plated Portes in the third to extend the lead to three
- A successful double steal by Nunn and Gaynor in the fourth led to a Gray Wolves error that plated Gaynor
- Newsome doubled home
Mark Carpenter, running for Hakes, in the fifth for a 5-0 lead
- Carpenter pinch hit in the sixth and delivered a two-run single; Newsome plated another with an RBI fielder's choice in the same inning
- Lourdes got their lone run in the bottom of the frame, plating a run on three hits

HIGHLIGHTS:GAME 1- Hakes finished 2-for-3 with four RBIs and one run scored; also drew two walks
- Remesnik also had two hits, driving in a pair of runs
- Five other Warriors recorded hits
- Portes walked and scored three times; Mead scored twice and drove in a run

Blake Converset (1-1) earned his first win in relief, allowing just on hit while striking out three in 3.1 innings

GAME 2- Portes and Newsom each went 3-for-4 and scored a run
- Newsom had a game-high three RBIs
- Carpenter scored twice and drove in a pair of runs
- Gaynor was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and a run scored

Brian Gremaux (1-3) earned his first win allowing just one run on five hits with two walks and three strikeouts in six innings

UP NEXT: The Warriors return home for Senior Day on Saturday, Mar. 28 against Concordia (Mich.). The WHAC doubleheader is slated to begin at 1 p.m. with seniors to be recognized after game one.
