BRIEF: The Indiana Tech women's tennis team dropped a pair of matches over the weekend, but on Saturday, four student-athletes had to miss the meet as they were being honored by Indiana Tech for their achievements in the classroom.

SATURDAY v. CU
The Golden Eagles refused to reschedule the meet while the Warriors were shorthanded so only three matches were contested with the home team winning two of the three. Anabell Cordero earned her first win of the season at No. 1 singles, defeating Janie Silvers, 6-0, 6-1.
 
Ana Hernandez, Stephanie Perez, Ashley Benvenuti and Raquel Manzoni all missed the match as they were being honors at the academic honors banquet held in Fort Wayne. All four players were honor for their outstanding academic achievement during the 2014-15 school year.
 
SUNDAY v. CSU
The Warriors were overmatched against the 12th-ranked Wolves on Sunday. In doubles action, CSU won all three matches, with the closest taking place at No. 1 where Hernandez and Cordero nearly defeated the East region's 10th-ranked pair of Volcy Boilevin and Litsupa Sirinit, falling 8-4.
 
In singles action, the East's 17th-ranked player, Alexi Loomis, defeated the Warriors No. 1 Manzoni, 6-1, 6-2, while Perez, Cordeo and Benvenuti also won at least one game for the Warriors.
 
IN THE NUMBERS:
Cordero is now 6-2 in singles play…the doubles pair of Manzoni and Barbara Belli de Oliveira are now 3-1 in 2015
 
UP NEXT: Today's match against Taylor has been postponed due to weather. The Warriors will return to action on Tuesday, Apr. 14 when they host 18th-ranked UNOH at Swinney Park. The match is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
