BRIEF: The fourth-seeded Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team dropped their quarterfinal matchup with fifth-seeded Robert Morris (Ill.), 10-9 at the National Women's Lacrosse League Championships in Belleville, Ill. on Thursday. Lauren Allard tallied four points and two other Warriors added a pair of goals in the loss.
 
FLOW:
Allard opened the scoring and Alexa Winter and Kristina Scott each added a goal for an early 3-0 lead. Four unanswered goals by the Eagles put RMU ahead, 4-3, but Allard responded with a Warriors goal to tie the score. Robert Morris added another goal, but Tech fought back with two goals in the final 34 seconds, one each from Sam Vikstrom and Alexis DiGiovanni to take a 6-5 lead into the break.
 
DiGiovanni opened the second half the way she ended the first and Allard scored her third goal of the game to push the lead to three, 8-5. RMU scored the next four goals to take a 9-8 lead and with less than two minutes to play, Vikstrom connected with Winter to tie the score a nine with a man-down goal. The game looked headed to overtime, until the Eagles needed a man-up goal with 29 seconds remaining for the win.
 
IN THE NUMBERS:
Allard scored three goals and had an assist while DiGiovanni added a pair of markers and Winter scored twice as well…Aubri Hazen collected a team-high six groundballs and Vikstrom caused seven turnovers…Meaghan Eldridge made 13 saves in the loss
