GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Indiana Tech men's track and field team saw two student-athletes earn All-American status on the second day of competition at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium and Gulf Shore Sports Complex on Friday.

In the men's long jump, indoor national champion,
Alain Dixon, finished fourth with a school record jump of 7.42m (24-4.25) to become the Warriors first All-American this weekend. He was joined by
Herb Gary after the high jump, which was the final field event of the day. Gary finished in a tie for seventh as five different athletes cleared 2.06m (6-9), but basee on jumps, Gary will split the award with two other jumpers.

On the track, a pair of Warriors,
Harris Edwards III and
John Broaden both qualified for the 200m finals with the former posting the top time in prelims at 20.86 while the latter posted the second fastest time at 21.03. Both athletes also qualified for the 100m as Edwards III posted a new school record, winning his heat in 10.37 while Broaden won his heat with a time of 10.48.

In the 400m,
John Hester qualified fifth for Saturday's final with a time of 48.20 while also running the anchor leg of the 4x400m relay along with
D'Quan Ruth,
Robert Rose and
Deshawn Woods. The Warriors posted the top time in the event, winning their heat in 3:10.93.

Edwards III's time in the 200m is the second fastest mark in program history while Broaden's time is the fifth best. In the 100m, Broaden's time is now tied for the fourth best mark in Warriors history.

The Orange and Black continue their quest for their fifth consecutive NAIA Track and Field National Championship on Saturday, May 23 as they wrap up the outdoor competition with
Trevor Wright kicking the day off in the shot put at 1 p.m. On the track, the men's 4x100m relay team will be the first men's event at 2:50 p.m.
