OXFORD, Ohio – The Indiana Tech men's and women's track teams opened their 2025-26 outdoor season on Friday at the Blizzard Buster hosted by Miami University (Ohio). The Warriors would start off with a bang coming back home with two class records, four event wins, nine individual personal records, and ten new program top ten all-time marks.
Daiveon Gayle-Woodley had the standout performance of the meet, hitting a NAIA A standard to qualify for nationals in the 400m dash with a time of 47.11
Meet highlights:
Men:
- Daiveon Gayle-Woodley hit the NAIA A standard winning the 400m dash at 47.11, while Joseph Hinds (49.22), James Barragan (49.64), and Marshall Harris (49.65) all break 50 and to go two, three, four
- The 110m hurdles group see's three NAIA B standards with Zion Smith (14.32), Nic Tozer (14.37), and Javion Westfield (14.47) finishing one, two, three in the event
- Triston Smith won the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.24
- Juan Caballero (9:00.50) and Kobee Beck (9:15.15) both hit a PR in the 3k, to move into seventh and tenth respectively on Tech's all-time list
- Adam Teitelbaum won the triple jump with a mark of 14.46m and was followed by three Warriors; 2nd – Jacquez Lawson (14.31m), 3rd – Alexander Lopez (13.85m), 4th – Robert Vaughn (13.64m)
- Stephen Sydnor finished second in the long jump with a 7.01m jump and Mckale Hood was fourth in the high jump at 1.95m
- Jayden Packer broke the sophomore class record on his way to winning the pole vault with a NAIA B standard mark of 4.85m and moving into fourth on Tech's all-time list, while Angel Toledo finished second at the meet and moved into seventh all-time at Tech with a PR mark of 4.70m
- Jacob Kavicky grabbed the NAIA B standard in the hammer throw with a mark of 55.41 to finish third in the event
Women:
- The 4x100m team of Alyssa Small, Gabrielle Hoskins, Emerson Harper, and K'Leigh Davis grabbed the NAIA B standard with a time of 47.10 and finished second
- Davis was fifth in the 100m dash in 11.98, while Hoskins was eighth in 12.03
- Greta Hornlein (15.02) and Aaliyah Rolle-Evans (15.13) finished third and fourth in the 100m hurdles, while Tamia Taylor finished second in the 400m hurdles at 1:04.21
- Viviana Rodriguez moved up to #4 on Tech's all-time list in the pole vault after hitting a NAIA B standard mark of 3.70m, finishing third at the meet, while Evelyn Dolce finished fifth at 3.55m
- Raigen Horsfall threw a PR mark of 40.50m in the discus and moved into the #4 spot on Tech's all-time performance list
- Tatum Wiedenhaft broke the Tech freshman class record and moved into third all-time, winning the shot put and hitting a NAIA B standard with a mark of 13.74m
- Ryah DiGiacomo finished third in the javelin with a mark of 39.22m and Alyssa Christian was fifth in the high jump with a mark of 1.56m
