FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's and women's track & field teams had their first home "outdoor" meet of the season on Wednesday, where they hosted the Easter Invite and celebrated senior day!
The meet was originally planned to be a two-day affair, but due to inclement weather, it was adjusted to a one day, field event only meet inside at the
Doug Edgar Indoor Track Facility at Warrior Park. The Warriors adapted to make it work and showed out with some stellar performances. They posted five event wins, four individual personal records, and four new program top ten all-time marks.
Stephen Sydnor punched his ticket to nationals after hitting a huge PR and NAIA A standard jump of 7.57m in the long jump, winning the event and moving into second all-time on Indiana Tech's top ten list.
Meet highlights:
Men:
- Carson Pollard won the high jump with a mark of 1.98m, while Alexander Brandon finished third with a jump of 1.93m
- Jayden Packer cleared 4.65m in the pole vault to finish second
- Tech would take the top four spots in both the long jump and the triple jump
Women:
Up next, the Warriors will be split over two meets the weekend of April 10
th and 11
th. Tech will compete at the Tennessee Invite hosted by the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee and the We Fly Challenge hosted by Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.
