GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Indiana Tech volleyball team suffered their second sweep in as many matches in a hard-fought WHAC loss on Friday night at Aquinas College (Mich.), 25-20, 26-24, 25-22.
 
The Warriors got off to a fast start in the first set when they jumped out to a 5-1 lead behind kills from Katelyn St. Martin, Cassie Sarabia and Jazmin Alexander. The Saints would recover quickly however, coming back with a four-point streak to make it 8-6. After Tech battled back to take a 14-12 lead, the hosts rattled off seven straight points to control the rest of the set and take the 1-0 lead.
 
Down 24-20 in the second set, the Orange and Black began a four-point rally to tie things up, but the Saints tightened up and won the next two points to win 26-24.
 
The third set was a back and forth affair as the two teams traded leads. Up 15-14, the visitors saw the hosts rattle off four straight to take a three-point lead, but the Warriors would not go quietly into the night. Down 23-19, Sarabia and Alexander led the way with kills to bring Tech within one, but the Saints would capitalize on errors to win the next two points and the match.
 
Sarabia finished the match with a team-high nine kills, while St. Martin and Alexander combined for 13. St. Martin added 16 digs as well. Taylor Kelso had 21 digs and Karli Jones dished out 18 assists.
 
Indiana Tech (5-6, 1-2) continues its four-game road trip with a visit to Detroit next Wednesday to take on Marygrove College. First serve is set for 7 p.m. and live stats can be found at IndianaTechWarriors.com.
