CLINTON, Iowa – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team fell to #RV Ashford on Saturday evening, 4-3, in an overtime heartbreak.
Down 3-2 after a goal from Alicia Tamburro in the 84th minute, the Warriors tied it up at 3-3 in the 87th minute when
Megan Perrey scored her third goal of the week by beating the Saints keeper to send the game into extra time. The tie was short-lived however, as Tamburro took a corner kick from Danielle Boyd to send the hosts home happy in the 94th minute.
Courtney Lakes and
Jessica Zurcher also scored for Tech. Lakes tied it at 1-1 in the 28th minute, while Zurcher knotted it at 2-2 in the 75th minute. Perry and Jaime Hawkey recorded the assists on the goals, respectively.
Alena Payne finished the game with five saves and saw her record fall to 3-3 on the season.
Tech (3-4-0) returns to the field on Tuesday, Sept. 22, when they welcome Goshen College to the Summit City. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and links to live stats will be available at IndianaTechWarriors.com.
