FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team finished its nonconference schedule strong on Tuesday evening with a 1-0 victory over Goshen College at Warrior Athletic Field.
The Warriors controlled the game from the opening kickoff, firing off a season-high 32 shots in all, with 10 of those coming on goal. After a scoreless opening half, Tech finally broke through in the 75th minute when
Sydney Lemelin corralled a bouncing ball inside the box and found
Megan Perrey for the game winning goal. The reigning WHAC Offensive Player of the Week collected her fifth goal of the season and fourth in the last three games.
Junior goalkeeper
Tailer Roscoe was the beneficiary of a strong Warrior defense, facing only one shot on goal in 90 minutes while recording her second shutout of the year. She is now 2-0-0 in her two starts, both of them clean sheets.
Indiana Tech (4-4-0) returns to the pitch on Saturday as they open WHAC play at Aquinas College. Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. from Grand Rapids, Michigan.
