FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team opens its home slate of WHAC games on Wednesday when they welcome #6 UNOH to the Summit City.

Last Time Out: The Warriors lost their conference opener to Madonna in overtime on Friday, 2-1.
Andrew Higgins headed the equalizer in off of
Landon Cochran's corner kick in the 77
th minute to help send the game into extra time. Higgins' goal broke Marcel Schmid's, the reigning NAIA National Defender of the Week, 548:50 minute shutout streak. It proved too not be enough however, as the Crusaders pounced on a rebound in the box just over a minute into overtime to capture the win.
Head Coach David Bokhart: Now in his fifth season as the head coach of the Warriors,
David Bokhart sports a record of 39-32-9. During his tenure, Bokhart has coached 16 WHAC Academic All-Conference honorees, 9 All-Conference selections, 6 NAIA Scholar-Athlete recipients and one NAIA All-American and Conference Defensive Player of the Year (Mark Baptist).
Scouting the Opposition: UNOH – The Racers come to Warrior Athletic Field as the sixth ranked team in the country and most recently defeated Lourdes, 2-0, in their conference opener on Saturday. Sergio Royo leads the team with six goals, while dishing out two assists. Liam Davies has played every minute in goal for the Racers, making 31 saves for three shutouts and a 1.29 goals against average (GAA).
Series Notes: UNOH – Tech has lost three straight to the Racers dating back to 2011. Last year in Lima, the Orange and Black fell 5-2.
Zachary St. Aubin scored the second goal for the Warriors.
Getting it Done in the Classroom: Indiana Tech was recognized with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award on Sept. 23 after obtaining a 3.01 composite grade point average for the 2014-15 academic year. The Team Academic Award is awarded annually to soccer programs whose student-athletes have excelled in the classroom. It is the seventh time that the men's team has received the honor and the first under Bokhart. Tech was one of only two men's teams in the WHAC to be recognized.
Flying Many Flags: This year's Warriors squad is represented by nine different countries and four continents. Tech features players from Germany, Ireland, England, Portugal, Brazil, South Africa, Austria and Canada in addition to the United States.
Making His Presence Felt: Freshman
Brennan Cochran has made an immediate impact on the pitch for the Orange and Black, starting all seven games and leading the team in goals (seven) and points (14). In the WHAC he ranks second in goals and third in points. Nationally he ranks seventh in shots on goal per game (3.14), tied for 11
th in shots per game (five), and tied for 42
nd in goals.
Steady Hand: Sophomore
Logan Kelly has been a steady force in the back of the net for the Warriors. He has started the past six games for Tech, giving up eight goals while recording 35 saves, including a shutout against Trinity Christian College. He sports a 1.33 GAA as well, sixth in a highly competitive conference field. The Fort Wayne native leads the WHAC in saves and saves per game (5.83) and ranks 33
rd in the country in the latter.
