MARION, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's tennis team dropped their season opener to Indiana Wesleyan University, 9-0, on Saturday afternoon.
The one doubles team of senior

Anabell Cordero fell 8-2, by the Wildcat duo of Katie Wilson and Lucia Solis. At two doubles, the pair of junior
Raquel Manzoni and senior
Barbara Belli de Oliveira was defeated 8-0 by Kelsey Vessels and Ellen Hornett.
In singles action, Manzoni lost to Wilson, 6-0, 6-1, at the one spot, while Hernandez was beaten by Solis, 6-2, 6-0. Cordero was defeated at three singles by Mikayla Marazzi, 6-2, 6-0. Oliveria lost to Marissa Klein, 6-2, 6-3, at four singles, and
Kayla Morrell fell, 6-0, 6-1, to Vessels at five singles.
Tech forfeited matches at three doubles and six singles.
The Warriors return to the courts on Sept. 17 when they head to Grand Rapids, Michigan, for the ITA Midwest Regionals, hosted by WHAC rival Davenport University (Mich.).
