FREMONT, Neb. – The Indiana Tech ACHA Division 1 men's ice hockey team fought back from two different deficits to force overtime against Midland, but couldn't convert in three chances in a shootout to fall, 5-4 (1-0 SO), on Saturday evening at Sidner Ice Arena.
 
Jace Childs put the visiting Warriors on the board first after just 3:20 into the game, but the home Warriors would respond with two goals at 7:25 and 10:23, respectively, to take a 2-1 lead into the first intermission.
 
After Midland scored their third goal just 50 seconds into the third period, Tech would battle back to tie it up with goals from Dominick Manochio and Chad Cobb.
 
A goal from each side in the third saw the game knotted up at four at the end of regulation. While neither side was able to find the net in the extra five minutes of overtime, the hosts would convert their third shot of the shootout to come salvage the weekend split.
 
Chet Tooker made 32 saves while facing 36 shots. Tech's penalty kill was spotless again as they did not give up a goal on four short-handed chances.
 
The Warriors fourth goal came from Jarrett Pfeiffer. Ryan Theisen picked up two assists on the night while Childs and Pfeiffer also notched assists.
 
Tech (13-11-1-1) returns to action next weekend when they welcome ACHA Division 2 Ferris State to the Summit City. The Warriors will host the Bulldogs at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum at 1:30 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday. Links to live video will be available at IndianaTechWarriors.com.
