DEARBORN, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's basketball team used stellar shooting and lockdown defense to pick up a 84-49 victory over Michigan-Dearborn on Saturday afternoon in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play.
Taylor Carver had a game-high 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds.
Haley Cook poured in 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including 5-of-7 from behind the three point line while pulling down seven rebounds.
Taylor Seiss chipped in 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting and had two assists.
Rayana Villalpando had four points and five assists. As a team the Warriors shot 50.8% from the field and 48.1% from the three point line, while holding the Wolverines to 25.8% from the field and 20.0% from downtown.
Tech jumped out to a 19-6 lead over the hosts in the first six and a half minutes of the game with Carver, Cook and Seiss combining for all 19 of the points during that stretch as they ended the first period up 28-13.
The Orange and Black would turn up the defensive pressure in the second quarter as the limited the Wolverines to just seven points while extending their lead to 47-21.

Kendall Knapke quarter as the freshman scored seven of Tech's 15 points and the Warriors continued to dominate Michigan-Dearborn, extending their lead to as many as 37 in the fourth quarter.
