FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 20
th-ranked Indiana Tech men's basketball team saw its eight game winning streak snapped as they fell to seventh ranked and defending national champion Cornerstone, 76-68, on Wednesday evening at the Schaefer Center.
Miles Robinson had a team-high 19 points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals while playing all 40 minutes. It is his fourth straight game scoring exactly 19 points.
Tanner Watkins added 13 points, four assists and three rebounds, while
Dominique Walls notched his seventh double-double of the year with 11 points and 10 rebounds while adding a pair of steals and a block.
Milos Milidragovic went 5-of-7 from the field en route to a season-high 11 points.
Both sides shot over 45% in the first half, with the Golden Eagles holding a 20-10 advantage in points in the paint, but the Warriors bench outscoring the visitors 21-4. Cornerstone looked poised to head into the locker room with a five-point lead, but Robinson hit a three-quarters length shot at the buzzer to cut the lead to 36-34.
Tech would tie the time at 42 after a jumper from Robinson with 15:34 in the second half and took their first lead of the game a minute later with a good jumper from Watkins made it 46-44, but it would be short-lived as Ben Lanning tied it with 14 minutes to go. Kyle Steigenga would get an and-one play to retake the lead for the Golden Eagles, who wouldn't relinquish the lead for the rest of the game as they increased it to as many as 12.
Cornerstone used a 22-10 advantage in points in the paint while converting nine Tech turnovers into 12 points in the second half as they handed the Warriors their second conference loss.
