FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team fell to sixth-ranked University of Northwestern Ohio, 4-0, on Wednesday evening in a rainy contest at Warrior Athletic Field.
The Racers would pressure the Warriors right off the bat with three corner kicks in the first 15 minutes of the game before Carlos Garces Suarez knocked one in past Tech keeper
Adam Viviano in the 22
nd minute to put the visitors up 1-0.
The two sides would continue to battle through the rain as the game drew on, but the Racers would increase their lead to 2-0 in the 53
rd minute off a free kick. The visitors would then tack on a pair of goals in the 83
rd minute to make it a 4-0 game.
Viviano would make four saves while
Mitch Smith and
Roman Schindler each tallied a shot on goal.
Tech (8-2-1, 2-2-1 WHAC) returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Detroit for a matchup with Marygrove. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. from the Marygrove Outdoor Athletic Complex.
