Warriors Shut Out Saints, Move to Fifth in WHAC Standings

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team shutout Aquinas on Saturday afternoon, 3-0, at Warrior Athletic Field in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action on Liver Cancer Awareness Night.

"This is probably our most under control, complete performance of the WHAC season to date," head coach David Bokhart said. "It is great to be back at home and I am so proud of the effort today and of what the guys have done in turning around quickly from Wednesday night. We still have to accumulate points to keep momentum heading into the postseason and we have three very difficult games remaining."

Brennan Cochran scored the Warrior's lone goal in the first half as he launched his fourth goal of the season in the 15th minute off the assist from Andrew Higgins. The Orange and Black added two more goals late in the second half with Ryan Hayhurst taking the header in for the score off another Higgins assist in the 74th minute and Roman Schindler scoring his ninth goal of the season in the 79th minute off Ruben Leonardo's pass.

Schindler and Brennan Cochran each finished the night with two shots on goal apiece. Adam Viviano concluded his night with two saves for the Warriors in the full 90 minutes of play.

Tech (11-2-2, 5-2-1 WHAC) will be back in action Monday as they host Lourdes in a make-up game from Homecoming Weekend at Warrior Athletic Field for a 4 p.m. match-up.
