Warriors Take Down Crusaders to Keep Tournament Hopes Alive

LIVONIA, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team edged out Madonna on Wednesday evening in a tight 1-0 decision at Madonna University Soccer Field in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play to keep their hopes alive for a conference tournament berth.

In what started as a quiet first half in Wednesday night's contest, the Warriors made some noise in the 42nd minute as Morgan Kroezen sent in her third goal of the season off the assist in the box from Jessica Zurcher for the 1-0 lead at the midway point.

The second half belonged to the Orange and Black's defense as they limited Madonna to just four shots in the final forty-five minutes of play and went on to keep them scoreless for the 1-0 victory by the end of the match. Jessica Marin, Becca Hoklas and Kroezen each registered a shot on goal against the Crusader's. Tailer Roscoe ended her night with four saves in 90 minutes of action and walked away with the shutout victory.

The Orange and Black now sit in a tie for eighth place in the WHAC with Cornerstone with nine points, though the Golden Eagles hold the tiebreaker via the 2-0 win over the Warriors back on October 7.

Tech (4-11-2, 3-6-0 WHAC) will be back in action this Saturday as they host #14 Davenport at Warrior Athletic Field for their final regular season match-up slated to begin at 12 p.m.
