Warriors Battle to Draw with Blue Devils

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team battled to a 3-3 double overtime draw with Lawrence Tech on Wednesday afternoon at LTU Athletic Field in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action.

"It was disappointing to drop points from a leading position," head coach David Bokhart said. "But I thought we created a number good chances in the game and can walk away feeling good about the overtime performance anyway. We need to focus after scoring goals, bottom line."

Roman Schindler scored his team-leading eighth goal just 18 minutes into the match with a shot to the right corner from 18 yards out as the Warriors held a 3-1 advantage in shots on the goal through the first 45 minutes.

Tech would get their second goal in the 57th minute as Oswaldo Segura Diaz found the back of the net, while Brennan Cochran netted his second goal of the season in the 60th minute, but within two minutes of both goals the Blue Devils would counter with scores of their own to make 2-1 and 3-2.

Tyler Winningham would tie the game up in the 81st minute, and while the Warriors had a pair of corner kicks in the closing seconds of regulation, they were unable to get a shot of frame.

The Orange and Black would get four shots on goal against Lawrence Tech in the second overtime period, but were stymied by Blue Devils keeper Max Jewett. The Warriors defense stood tall during the extra time, not allowing a single shot or shot on goal

Adam Viviano made two saves in the game.

Tech (8-0-1, 3-0-1 WHAC) returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan for a matchup with Cornerstone. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from CU Soccer Stadium.
