Warriors End Fall Ball in Style with Bandor’s Walkoff

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech baseball closed outs its fall season in style on Sunday afternoon at Warrior Field as senior third baseman Matt Bandor smashed a pinch-hit walk-off two-run homer to left field to give the Warriors a 5-4 victory over University of Northwestern Ohio.

Trailing 4-3 in the ninth inning, Bandor would step up to the plate following a Branson Dossen single. After working a 1-1 count, the Fort Wayne native would drill the next pitch over the left field wall for his third home run of the season while helping the Warriors avoid the sweep.

The Orange and Black would start their comeback the inning before, with Charlie Sipe and pinch-hitter Taylor Nychyk hitting back-to-back singles before Tighe Koehring smashed a 2-2 pitch onto Anthony Boulevard to bring the Warriors within a run at 4-3.

Tech starter Jason Sterrett would pitch six innings, allowing two earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four. Jacob Koehring would pick up the win in relief, going three innings and striking out two.

Tech finishes their fall slate with a 6-3 record overall and in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play and will resume play in the spring.
