ADRIAN, Mich. – The 20
th-ranked Indiana Tech men's basketball team picked up a crucial road win in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play on Saturday evening as they came from behind in the last three minutes of the game to defeat Siena Heights, 71-67, at the Siena Heights Fieldhouse.
Miles Robinson led all scorers with 28 points and grabbed eight rebounds while
Scott Schwieterman added 16 points.
Stuart Jackson chipped in eight points and five rebounds while
Lavonte Davis had seven points and a season-high 10 rebounds.
The two sides battled all evening long, with neither side taking a double-digit lead during the game. With the Saints leading by seven with 9:47 to go in the game,
CJ Bussey would hit a three on Tech's next possession to spark a 9-4 run and cut the deficit to two points with 7:46 to go.
The hosts would extend the lead back to five and hold a 65-60 lead with six minutes remaining, but the Orange and Black would turn to Schwieterman and Miles, who combined for the next 10 Warrior points while Tech limited the Saints to just 1-10 from the field, and scoreless in the last 2:41, in the last five minutes of the game to hold on for the 71-67 victory.
The Warriors would limit the Saints to just 29.0% shooting in the second half and 18.2% from deep while shooting 43.5% in the last 20 minutes as they improved to 2-0 in WHAC play.
Tech (5-1, 2-0 WHAC) returns to action on Tuesday when they conclude their road trip against Michigan-Dearborn. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. from the UMD Fieldhouse.
