ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 17-ranked Indiana Tech women's basketball team saw its six-game winning streak snapped on Friday evening as they fell in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action to Concordia, 61-54, at Concordia Gymnasium.
Keanna Gary recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 15 points and a game-high 19 rebounds while
Haley Cook added a team-high 19 points.
Kendall Knapke and
Sarah White added six points each.
The Cardinals would get out to a 15-9 lead with a 2:03 to go in the first quarter with the Warriors struggling to shoot the ball, finishing with a season-low 31.7% and shooting just 22.7% from behind the three-point line.
Tech would fall behind 27-20 with 3:04 to go in the second quarter while the hosts would extend their lead to 13 in the third quarter. The Warriors would rally back however, using a furious 11-2 spurt to cut the deficit to 50-45 with 2:45 to go in the game.
The Orange and Black would trim the deficit to four with 45 seconds left on the clock, but the Cardinals would close the game on a 7-4 run to hand the Warriors their second loss in conference play.
Tech (11-2, 6-2 WHAC) now heads to Hawaii for the Hoop N' Surf Classic and will take on No. 2-ranked Concordia (Neb.) at 4:30 p.m. EST from Saint Francis School.
