CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio – The Indiana Tech men's basketball team ended its fall semester schedule on a high note as they defeated Ohio Christian, 82-73, on Monday evening at the Maxwell Center for their fifth consecutive victory.
Miles Robinson led all scorers with 21 points and grabbed six rebounds while
Scott Schwieterman tied his season high in points with 20.
Tanner Watkins added 14 points on 6-11 shooting while
Lavonte Davis and
Max Huber each collected six rebounds each.
Tech would get out to a 19-14 with nine minutes gone to start the game, but the Trailblazers would battle back and tie the game at 25 with 7:32 left in the first half. Ohio Christian would end the half on a hot streak as they used a 10-7 run to take a 38-35 lead into the locker room.
Schwieterman and Robinson would then take over the second half, scoring 22 of the teams 47 points while
CJ Bussey would score all nine of his points in the final 20 minutes of action. The Warriors would use an 8-0 run, sparked by a three-pointer from Bussey and an-one play from Schwieterman to take a 47-41 lead four minutes into the half.
The Trailblazers would battle back to tie the game up at 47-all, only to see the Orange and Black increase the lead back to eight with 10:46 to play. The hosts would counter quickly to tie it back up at 64 with 5:24 to play, the visitors would end the game on an 18-9 run to take the game handily for their fifth straight win.
Tech (11-4) returns to action on January 2 when they end their road trip in Portsmouth, Ohio against NAIA Division I foe Shawnee State. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. from the Frank and Janis Waller Gymnasium.
