FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's basketball team rebounded from a tough loss to No. 2-ranked Cornerstone with an 82-72 victory over Aquinas on Wednesday evening at the Schaefer Center in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action.
 
Miles Robinson scored a game-high 25 points while grabbing six rebounds and dishing out five assists. Scott Schwieterman notched his second double-double of the season with 20 points and 10 rebounds, tying his season-best in both categories. Jantzen Goodwin broke out a shooting slump with 12 points and all of his scoring coming from behind the three-point line, while Lavonte Davis added 10 points, seven rebounds and four blocks.
 
The Saints would jump out of the gates with a 16-8 run over the first six and a half minutes of the game and extend their lead to as many as nine points with 7:29 remaining in the half. Tech though, would slowly chip away at the lead, as Goodwin knocked down back-to-back triples to spark a 13-8 run from the hosts as the cut the deficit to two points with 2:52 left in the half.
 
Aquinas would respond to take a 38-31 lead with 96 seconds to go, but a triple from Schwieterman, two free throws from Watkins and an-one play from Robinson at the buzzer would give the Warriors a 39-38 lead at the break.
 
Robinson would then hit back-to-back buckets to open the second half while Goodwin knocked down two more from downtown to give Tech a 49-43 lead with just over three minutes gone in the half.
 
Schwieterman would then go on a 7-0 run by himself to extend the lead while Robinson added another quick five points to give the Orange and Black a 61-47 lead with 12:42 to go. A fast break dunk from Max Huber would bring the crowd at the Schaefer Center to its feet as the Warriors to give Tech a 12 point lead with just over six and a half minutes left in the game and while the Saints would threaten by cutting the lead to nine points, it would not be enough as the Orange and Black would improve to 4-2 at home.
 
Tech (7-4, 4-2 WHAC) returns to action on Saturday as they head to Sylvania, Ohio for a matchup with Lourdes. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. from the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
