LIMA, Ohio – The Indiana Tech women's basketball team used a 27-10 second quarter to build a 20-point halftime lead as they defeated University of Northwestern Ohio, 83-57, on Wednesday evening at Racer Gymnasium.
Haley Cook had a team-high 20 points to go along with 10 rebounds in her second double-double of the season.
Taylor Carver added 16 points and four rebounds while
Taylor Seiss had 15 points and went 4-of-8 from the three-point line.
Kendall Knapke and
Baylee Rinehart chipped in 10 points apiece and combined for nine rebounds.
Knapke opened the game with a three as the Warriors lead wire-to-wire for their fifth straight win. The three-point barrage would continue throughout the first half as Tech went 9-of-19 behind the arc.
The Orange and Black turned up the offense in the second quarter as they a 27-10 run, highlighted by a 12-0 spurt, to head into halftime with a 50-30 advantage.
A 9-0 run in the third period pushed the visitors lead to 64-40 with 1:31 to go in the quarter and the Warrior cruised through the remaining 10 minutes to sweep the season series from the Racers.
Tech (18-9, 14-5 WHAC) continues its third-game road trip on Saturday with a trip to Southfield, Michigan and a battle with #18 Lawrence Tech. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. from Don Ridler Field House. Links to live video and stats will be available at IndianaTechWarriors.com.
