DEARBORN, Mich. – The No. 21 Indiana Tech ACHA Division 1 men's ice hockey team fell to No. 13 Michigan-Dearborn, 8-5, in the first round of the Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League (GLCHL) Tournament on Friday night at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.
Tech would take a 2-1 lead early in the first period to chase starting goalie Thomas Proudlock, but the Wolverines would come back with three straight goals to head into the locker room up 4-3.
UM-Dearborn would then make it 5-3 in the second period before the game got delayed for about 25 minutes with 6:58 left in the second the game due to the lights going out because of the strong winds in the area.
After the delay the Warriors would strike twice to tie the game at five thanks to goals from
Jarrett Pfeiffer and
Adam Jonak.
Michigan-Dearborn though, would come right back with three straight goals to take the 8-5 lead and end the Warriors first go-around in the GLCHL Tournament.
Tech (21-13-1-1-1) concludes its second season next weekend with a pair of games on the road against No. 15 Illinois. Both games are slated for 8:30 p.m. EST from the University of Illinois Ice Arena.
