BELLEVILLE, Ill. – The No. 8/7 (NAIA/National Women's Lacrosse League) Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team opened the 2016 season on Thursday evening with a dominating 19-2 win over Lindenwood-Belleville at Lindenwood Stadium.
 
The Warriors came out of the gates firing, blitzing the Lynx with six goals in the first six minutes and nine seconds of the game. Alexa Winter started the onslaught with a goal just a minute and 46 seconds into the season for first-year head coach Jason Allen, as she was one of three players to score four goals in the game. She would also tally three assists.
 
Tayler Campbell and Sam Vikstorm also recorded four goals each for the Orange and Black, who lead 13-0 at halftime and limited the hosts to just four shots on goal and six total shots. 10 Warriors recorded a goal while eight picked up an assist. Vikstorm added eight ground balls and six draw controls.
 
Aubri Hazen added three assists and a goal, while Meaghan Eldridge made two saves in 30 minutes to pick up the win.
 
Tech (1-0) will take on Missouri Baptist on Friday at 1 p.m. EST and will also be held at Lindenwood Stadium.
