BELLEVILLE, Ill. – The No. 8/7 (NAIA/NWLL) Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team concluded their opening weekend of play at the Frostbite Invitational on Saturday morning at Lindenwood-Belleville University with an 18-3 victory of St. Mary University.
The Warriors were led offensively again by
Alexa Winter who recorded another four goals and dished out two assists to finish the weekend with 13 goals and seven assists.
Tayler Campbell and
Heidi Tremaine each notched a hat trick and combined for three assists.
Nicole Price and
Aubri Hazen also had multi-goal games with two goals each.
Sam Vikstrom picked up 11 ground balls while earning seven draw controls.
Meaghan Eldridge played all 60 minutes to pick up her third straight win.
Tech jumped all over the spires in the first half, scoring just 28 seconds into the game with a laser shot from Hazen before Winter made it 2-0 82 seconds later as the Orange and Black jumped out to a 10-0 lead and entered halftime up 11-1.
Four more unanswered goals to open the second half put the Warriors up 14-1 with 17 and a half minutes to as they won their third straight game to open the 2016 campaign.
Tech (3-0) moves to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action next week as they travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan on Thursday for a showdown with Aquinas. Game time is set for 7 p.m. from Aquinas College Athletic Field.
