Tech Runs Winning Streak to Seven in Victory over Lourdes

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 3 (NAIA/NWLL) Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team continued to roll on Saturday with a 19-6 win over Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) foe Lourdes at Warrior Athletic Field to push their winning streak to seven games to start the 2016 season.

Alexa Winter notched four goals and a ground ball in the win while going 1-1 on free position shots. Kristina Scott, Aubri Hazen and Jennifer Banks scored three goals apiece with Scott getting seven draw controls and Hazen picking up four ground balls. Sam Vikstrom picked up five ground balls and had five draw controls while causing three turnovers and Tayler Campbell scored twice. Meaghan Eldridge made three saves in 30 minutes to improve her record to 7-0.

Much like they have all season, the Warriors got on the board first and quickly as they scored 71 seconds into the game courtesy of Winter. She would add her second at the 25:10 mark to answer a Gray Wolves goal to give Tech the lead for good as they scored eight unanswered goals to end the half up 10-1.

The Orange and Black would outscore the visitors 8-5 in the second half as they cruised to the win while scoring double-digit goals for the seventh time and holding the opposition to under eight goals for the seventh straight game.

Tech (7-0, 4-0 WHAC) travels to Grand Rapids, Michigan on Wednesday as they battle with No. 6/4 Davenport for control of first place in the conference. Game time is set for 5 p.m. from DU Turf Field.
