FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 7 Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team concluded a jam-packed weekend as they defeated Aquinas, 10-6, on Sunday evening on Senior Night at Warrior Athletic Field.
William McKinney and
Jace Childs each recorded a hat trick while Childs picked up a team-high 10 ground balls.
Carlos Matta,
Noah Puckett,
Mitchell Wilkins and
Brandon Gates also scored a goal too.
Brian Nichter dished out a game-high five assists while
Lee Raymond was 12-18 on face offs.
Joseph Dosen made 10 saves in the victory.
Matta would put the Warriors up 3-2 with 80 seconds left in the first period to spark a four-goal unanswered streak to go up 6-2. After a power play goal from the Saints at the 12:15 mark in the third, Tech would score three more times to extend their lead to 9-3 to head into the final 15 minutes.
Aquinas would counter with three straight goals to cut the deficit to 9-6, but McKinney would put the hosts up 10-6 with 4:58 to go in the game.
Tech (5-6, 3-1 WHAC) returns to action on Wednesday when Siena Heights comes to the Summit City. Face off is set for 7 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
