PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team dropped their season opener on Friday to Trinity Christian College, 2-1, at George and June Schaaf Athletics Complex.
The Trolls got on the scoreboard first with a goal from Kayla Diemer in the 23
rd minute after running down a ball in the corner and corralling the rebound off a
Tailer Roscoe save. Diemer would add her second goal of the match in the 53
rd minute following a corner kick to put the hosts up 2-0.
Tech would cut the deficit in half with a penalty kick goal from
Morgan Kroezen in the 62
nd minute after being fouled in the box, but the Orange and Black were unable to get a shot on goal in the final 28 minutes as Trinity Christian held on for the win.
Roscoe would finish with six saves while Krozen would have half of the team's six shots on goal.
Alexis Blackburn would add two shots on goal.
Tech (0-1-0) opens their home slate on Sunday with a 2 p.m. kickoff against Rochester College (Mich.) for Senior Day. Prior to kickoff, Tech will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at 1:40 p.m. on Warrior Athletic Field. Links to live stats and video will be available at IndianaTechWarriors.com.
