Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Warriors Stay Undefeated with Win over Maple Leafs

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team improved its winning streak to five games with a 3-1 victory over Goshen College on Wednesday evening at Warrior Athletic Field.

"We found a lot of space on the counter, but ultimately had to settle for the result based off of set pieces," head coach David Bokart said. "Maybe this is the type of game where we look ahead a few weeks to when someone like a Brennan Cochran can step in and really complete the puzzle for us. When you are 5-0 to start the year, you have to be positive but maybe the standards of execution, game management, and so on, have to be higher. We will hopefully learn as we go. Obviously, based on the stats, assists, etc., our best players are at their best and we can ride that momentum into the WHAC season."

The hosts caught a lucky break in the seventh minute as Goshen fell victim to an own goal following a header from a Maple Leaf defender that found the back of their own net, giving Tech the early 1-0 lead.

Landon Cochran would make in it a 2-0 game in the 28th minute he pounced on a rebound following a shot from Mitch Smith while Smith iced the game in the 70th minute, knocking the ball in following Andrew Higgins's corner.

Adam Viviano finished the game with a season-high six saves and allowing just one goal that came in the 72nd minute to improve his record to 5-0 on the year.

"When you are 5-0 to start the year, you have to be positive but maybe the standards of execution, game management, and so on, have to be higher," Bokhart added. "We will hopefully learn as we go. Obviously, based on the stats, assists, etc., our best players are at their best and we can ride that momentum into the WHAC season."

Tech concludes its homestand on Saturday evening when they host Rochester College (Mich.) at Warrior Athletic Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and links to live video and stats will be available at IndianaTechWarriors.com.
