Tech Rallies Late, Falls in Overtime to Foresters

HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team used a late second half rally to force extra time, but fell to regional rival Huntington, 4-3 in overtime on Thursday afternoon at King Stadium.

The Foresters came out of the gates firing with three goals in the first 12:35 of the game to take a commanding lead over the Warriors. Tech would answer in the 17th minute as Jessica Zurcher cut the deficit to two. Morgan York was credited with the assist.

The Orange and Black would pressure the hosts but were unable to capitalize until the 80th minute when Morgan Kroezen took the pass from Jessica Marin and blasted one into the back of the net and give the visitors a chance in the last 10 minutes of regulation.

Kristen Roe would notch the equalizer just three minutes later following a scramble in the box off a Tech corner kick.

The visitors had the advantage in the extra time with a pair of corner kicks and shots, including one on goal that was stopped by HU keeper Autumn DeMott, but the Foresters snatched the victory in the 97th minute when Olivia Knispel beat Tailer Roscoe for the game-winner.

Roscoe would finish the game with six saves while the Warriors had 15 shots on goal for the afternoon, including three from Marin and Roe.

Tech (1-4-2) hosts top-ranked and defending national champion Spring Arbor on Tuesday, September 20, at 7 p.m. at Warrior Athletic Field. Links to live stats and video will be available at IndianaTechWarriors.com.
