FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's volleyball team stayed perfect in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play with a 3-1 (25-22, 25-23, 17-25, 25-15) over Aquinas on Friday night at the Schaefer Center.
Cassie Sarabia had a game-high 11 kills and dug out 14 balls to lead the Warriors, while
Taylor Kelso had a season-high 33 digs.
Brandi Huesman served up three aces and
Gabby Staggs had five blocks.
Autumn Stokes and
Karli Jones combined for 40 assists on night.
The Warriors battled tough with the Saints in the first two sets, but scrapped out two close wins to take a 2-0 lead for the match. The visitors would then come out firing in the third, racing out to a 13-4 lead and forcing a fourth set.
Tech would find themselves in a fight through the first 20 points of the fourth set, but used a 7-0 run to take a 17-9 lead, with five different Warriors recording kills. Huesman would then ice the win with an ace to take the fourth set, 25-15, and give the Orange and Black the 3-1 win while improving their winning streak to five matches.
Tech (9-4, 3-0 WHAC) returns to the court on Saturday for a matinée matchup with Cornerstone at the Schaefer Center. First serve is set for 1 p.m. and links to live stats and video will be available at IndianaTechWarriors.com.
