FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team defeated regional rival Huntington, 3-0, on Saturday evening in their home opener at Warrior Athletic Field.
Oswaldo Segura Diaz got the scoring started early as he took the give-and-go from
Ruben Leonardo in the third minute to put the Warriors up 1-0 over the Foresters.
Richard Doll would make it 2-0 Tech in the 67
th minute with a shot from 18 yards out with
Roman Schindler getting the assist.
The Orange and Black would extend their lead to 3-0 14 minutes later as
Ruben Leonardo notched his second goal of the season as he beat the keeper to the near post in the 82
nd minute.
Adam Viviano notched his first shutout of the season while making three saves to improve his record to 2-0 on the season.
Tech (2-0-0) returns to the pitch on Wednesday, Sept. 7, when they head south to Upland, Indiana for a matchup with Taylor University. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from Turner Stadium and links to live stats and video will be available at IndianaTechWarriors.com.
