ATHENS, Tenn. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team picked up their first win of the season with a 3-2 victory over Union College (Ky.) on Saturday afternoon at the Tennessee Wesleyan Soccer Field.
Courtney Lakes put the Warriors on the board first with first goal of the season. The Bulldogs would score the equalizer in the 33
rd minute and the two sides would go into halftime knotted at one.
Jessica Zurcher would put the Orange and Black up 3-1 in the first eight minutes of the second half, scoring her first two goals of the year in the 51
st and 53
rd minute, respectively.
Union would cut the deficit to one in the 69
th minute, but
Tailer Roscoe would stand huge in the last five minutes with three big saves as Tech would hold on for the win.
Roscoe would finish with five saves while Zurcher would lead both teams with six shots on goal.
